You may wonder why I stopped blogging
The truth is… I hate this theme! I can’t believe Lim Kit Siang is also using the same theme.
It looks ugly… That, and the fact that my life is nothing more then a boring routine of work, live, eat, sleep lately.
I also became quite lazy to look for a new theme AND make sure that all my plugins are compatible with the new one. -_-
And since I don’t really have anything interesting to say or to blog about, I’ll just have to annouce that, I’ve bought a new pair of shoes, played inline skating for the first time, went to Sg. Sedim, cought a flu and was finally able to swim one half a lap of the swimming pool non stop.
See? Nothing special… Just a boring old routine life -_-
Quickie: Hmm… I’m still waiting for my free T-Shirt from Exabytes.
Daily Budget Calculator
I’ve got some (only a little) spare time in the office lately. Since I’ve completed part of my work and am waiting for some engineers to verify the program so they can come back to me with bugs for me to fix.
So, I’ve decided to create a little Excel file which will help me to track my daily spending and helps me to create a budget of how much I can spend per day.
It’s not one of those complicated Excel financial tracker which you can download from Microsoft. I find them too complicated and not suitable tracking what’s in my pocket. I don’t need Excel to track and plan my bills and bank accounts. I just want to know how I spend the money I drew out from the ATM machine and how much should I spend daily for that money to last.
Well, I’ve redesigned it a little and wrote a little readme file with it so I can distribute it.
If you have the need to track the cash in your wallet, and not your bank, your bills, your safe, your credits, etc…, why don’t you try it out?

Funny Phone Call
I thought these kind of stuff only happens to girls.
You got a call from an unknown number. Then, the caller (a guy) breathing very heavily through the phone. Then he mumbles something which sounds like Chinese but with his tongue tied with a rubber band or something. His voice doesn’t even sound good. Sounds like an idiot. (Yea, yea. No such thing as an idiot sound)
Then he hung up the phone.
Sheesh!
Why don’t girls with preety voices ever calls me and breaths heavily though the phone? I can put it on hands free speaker and share it with the guys…
Just because you’re online behind the monitor
It doesn’t mean that you’re safe.
Being online is just like driving a car. It doesn’t mean that being inside the car won’t get you into a serious injury if you drive racklessly. When you’re surfing a website, you leave detailed information about your computer and your history. Computer viruses also plays a role in stealing your information and sending them to strangers.
Also, just because you think you’re using emails and don’t install anything you got from your email, it doens’t mean that you’re safe. sometimes, if you have stupid friends who would simply forward any emails with your email address in them, be prepared for SPAM… Lots of spams.
I don’t get it why some people are so careless when it comes to downloading files from the internet. Just because Torrents are easy to download nowadays doesn’t mean you can just simply pick a file and download. Ever heard of people being sued and sent to jail?
Sigh…
I still think nerds rule sometimes…
Growing Mushrooms, or rather, Mushrooms growing
Mushrooms has been growing around my mom’s potted plants lately. They sure do pop up out of nowhere and grow really fast!
I’m pretty sure my mom didn’t intentionally planted those pointy little things in that random pot, but she did bought a new bag of soil just recently. It only proves that those sellers are selling unknown quality soil dug up from some random location without even knowing if the soil contains any parasites or not.
Those mushrooms are quite pretty and they are quite interesting to watch as well. Since they can actually change shape overnight.
However, we had to throw away those mushrooms since we do not know if they were poisonous or not. It’s also not good to have them growing around too much.
It’s stupid, But it’s common
Sometimes, a company which is trying to cut costs will cut almost everything just to save a few. All it takes if one or two managers to fly over with a private jet or business class just to oversee and enforce the new cost cutting policies and the cost of their air fare has caused the jobs of several operators in the factory.
Now, do you still think that all multi-national companies are smart?
Sign out from Gmail remotely
If you have used a public computer to surf the net and check your emails before, you might probably have forgotten to sign out of your email account before you left the computer for another stranger to use. That stranger can access your emails, change your settings, send emails from your account and even obtain sensitive information of you or your contacts. Just as easy as how I accessed someone’s email.
So, how can you make sure your Gmail accounts are secure and not accessed by others while you’re at home?
Checkout the screenshot above. Gmail has a section at the bottom to show your account activity. Let’s say if you have not touched your Gmail for more then 8 hours but the information shows that it has been accessed just 3 hours ago, then you know that someone has just accessed your emails! Either that, or you need some vitamins to boosts your memory.
What can you do about it? You certainly do not want to drive all the way back to the Internet cafe to whack the person using your account and just to sign off from there. You certainly also wouldn’t want to wait until that computer’s log-in session is over (Waiting for it to log out itself). You are most certainly unable to do it in time before that stranger is able to compose a new email titled “all your email are belong to us”.
All you have to do is to click on the details link and be presented with this screen.
Then, click on the “Sign out all other sessions” button to make the computer you’re currently using the only one signed in. Which means, you’ll be sure you’re the only one with access to your own emails!
Google will remind you that anyone with your password can still sign into your account and will ask if you want to change your password. It’s a good practice to have a complex but easy to remember password. That makes it harder for some software to decrypt your password or for others to guess your password just by viewing at your keyboard while you’re typing.
Try a combination of alphabets and numbers including at least a symbol and make use of the shift or caps lock.
The safer way to surf using a public computer is still to always clean all the browser’s cache and cookies after using it. Or the safest way is not to use a public computer at all as you might not know if there’s a keylogger (which can record all your computer actions) infecting that computer.
How’d you like the new theme?
The old Wordpress theme I was using was nice, but a little too messy. So I found this nice little theme called Fusion and tried it. Hope you readers like it.
Well, this new theme has a few extra features out of the box. The most obvious will be the interface. It’s not AJAX but it’s feeling is quite similar. It also supports Gravtar out of the box. No modifications to the codes needed. Just look how far has the blogging platform go! Just a few years ago, Wordpress users all have to customize our own codes just to get some of the cool plugins to work!
Adding your own Town into iGoogle’s weather Gadget
Are you an iGoogle user? Do you use the weather gadget in your iGoogle? Do you find it hard or strange that the town/state which you selected isn’t really correct?

I’m staying in one of the area affected by this bug and this bug hadn’t been fixed for months. Perhaps no one have actually reported it or Google just didn’t seem to care.
However, there’s an alternative way to add your own state’s weather report into your iGoogle.
Go to your normal google.com search page and type “weather: [your town]” without quotes and replace [your town] with the place you’re staying.
Then, you’ll be presented with the weather forecast and an option to add it into your iGoogle.

Tada! Now you can plan your picnic ahead of time!
Broadband Alternatives?
I’m fedup with Streamyx. I was fedtup with them ever since I used their dail-up. Jaring and TimeNet dail-up was still much better then TMnet’s dial-up. And now, Streamyx is giving me lots of stupid speeds when connections are stable and unstable connections once in awhile AND not being able to connect at all at least once a year!
Tried calling them and getting your blood preassure up? Or tried emailing them with the provided email they have in their website? (Hint: That email does not exist but it’s listed anyway)
SO… I tried to look for an alternative. PenangFON, Maxis Broadband, Celcom, Digi, Time, EZnet, and even the latest one, P1WiMax.
The stupid thing is, none of them have proper coverage in my area! What’s wrong with my Fucking area? Too little residence? Too many uncles who don’t use the internet?
So, I’m still stuck with this stupid company which just gave me and my girlfriend a hard time in their stupid TMpoint where the staff don’t even know how to use their own fucking system. It wasted at least 1 hour of our time for nothing.
I know, this is probably the 100123023497th blog which complains about streamyx… Yet, they still never change…
