Migrated

Moved from Exabytes to share a hosting package with my friend at another web host. This is because I seldom update my blog and there isn’t a lot of visitors anyway so paying for a premium service isn’t required. I now only needed a cheap but stable host to host my existing blog.

The move was simple, thanks to WordPress’ structure. All I need to do is to move the files, the database, and changed some settings all in 1 page only.

It took around 24 hours for my domain name to point to this new nameserver and now here we are!

ASLR PLS WTF OMGBBQ ME GUSTA

You know, I thought I’d thought when the internet came into my life, life would change from being non-connected to connected. That means I could install MIRC and ask anyone with a female nick ASLR wanna meet?

Who would have known the internet changed so much in the past decade? The first big change for me was instant messaging. IRC was so troublesome that you never know people was trying to talk to you unless you were in the IRC window. And you’ll never know if your friend is online or not in IRC until you search the channel and didn’t see their usual nick.

ICQ was invented and it was cool. Everyone was introducing themselves and exchanging ICQ numbers in school then. Who didn’t have ICQ then was equivalent to who didn’t use Facebook now.

Then there was this time when MSN came out, broadband was introduced to Malaysia and everyone can spend a lot of time visiting and posting in online forums. That was the time when people started posting things like WTF? OMG! LOL!. Those ASL, BRB, AFK stuff was slowly fading away into memories.

After awhile, simply posting stuff like WTF became lame and you’d probably seen words like WTFOMGBBQ! posted somewhere before in the forums. I never bother to find out what it actually meant and why they wanted to post such lame words. But to them, people who don’t understand those words are fresh to the internet.

Then came 9gag… That’s probably when I decided that the internet has been taken over by aliens and slowly brain washing every internet users to speak their language. Because this time, their posts are not limited to chat rooms or forums only, there are all over the blogs, social networks, forums, and even stage shows in public…

WTF?

It’s Friday Friday… Tomorrow anyway…

Rebecca Black – Friday

This is a viral video posted on YouTube which got plenty of UNLIKE(S). The song is about… Friday and it basically describes what Friday is all about. The lyrics are lame and the video was erm. could be better.

But what hit me was why people actually make such a big fuss about hating Rebecca Black? Is the song or the video that bad? It’s lame, but it’s catchy.

If you want to know what a bad, lame and pointless video is, try watching a naked girl falling down the stairs.

Boring routine

Woke up, clean up, eat up, pack up, go to work, go to class, go home, sleep.

That’s my daily routine. Nothing special, and nothing to be exited about.

I get almost no benefits from my company. Basic medical which is limited by the months, a fixed 12 days leave which never increases over the years, no performance bonus, only reviewed bonus which is never once I see above 0.8 months.

There’s no 20% time for creative work, there’s no training provided, and the boss keeps telling everyone that the company is not doing very well when asking about increment or bonus.

Obviously, I need a new job.

Moving forward…

“Taking one foot and putting it in front of the other, that is the only way to travel forward… If however you take steps forward whilst looking backward; well -then you will fall over because you end up tripping over something you would easily have seen if looking where you were going in the first place. So, when looking back just stay still for a moment, allow yourself to reflect, but then you must at some point turn around and just keep moving – or you will stay stagnant on the spot which means going nowhere at all.” – Jacquelene Close Moore.

It feels that I do have times which I become all moody and depressed even though I’m a guy. Probably my emotions are  easily affected by what I see.

One part of me says I’m lucky and supposed to be happy with what I got. Just take a look at how much further I’ve gone though then some of my friends. Another part of me says I’m a looser. Someone who could have gone so much further only if I’ve just worked a little harder in the past. “Past” is over. The future is where I’m heading. Plans are drafted in my head but action not taken. Why? Cause I don’t know how to put plans into action? That’s a bad trait of me which I struggle to fix all my life. It’s not supposed to be in my DNA. But certainly someone has planted the thoughts into me head that I’ll be making a big mistake if I change. Education? Bad parenting? Bad friends? I guess blaming only solves the emotion but not the problem.

I’m still stuck. Stuck in this bad situation where I don’t want to be in. I’ve just figured out I’m studying for a subject I am not interested to dedicate my life to make it into my career. I’m stuck as one of the lowest paid employee in the company but doing one of the most work. Working extra without extra compensation. Getting bad reviews over something impossible to do in the first place. Quit? I wish I can. But how?

Why do some people only have to sit around and face fixed problems to solve and earn a lot higher then me who always have to face a dynamic range of problems (and not to mention, Idiots) and earn so much less?

Blog for money? It was not encouraged. Start my own business? I wanted to do that ever since I got out of high school. But was not encouraged as well. Oh, now that I’m already too old and suddenly there’s no objections when all the market have already saturated?

Sorry for this rant post. But I’m still finding a way to punch through this wall of life.

Fuel Price Increase… AIYAH!!!

Price for RON95 has increased by 5 cents per liter today. That means, my usual RM60 of 32.4 liters will now get me 31.5 liters only. Or the other way round, if I pump 32.4 liters, it’ll cost me RM61.5 now.

Meaning, most drivers who has a tank capacity of 40 liters like me will likely save around RM1.5 if they rush to the petrol station, queue and wasted RM5 calling and messaging all their friends about the price increase. That’s a total of NEGATIVE RM3.5 of saving! :P

Okay, I understand the need to reduce subsidy in order to save money. But will the ~RM1 billion saved be useless? I mean, they are going to spend it on some guy to go to space again! :(

Bodoh.

Radio Advice – Search online less?

Currently, most radio channels in Malaysia features short advisory advertisements highlighting issues in our world and advices on what to do. For example, MyFM frequently advices us to remember to appreciate our parents by going home to visit them frequency. It’s all good and encouraging. But sometimes, some of their advices aren’t really properly researched.

LiteFM for example, have this advertisement that advices us to use less search engine as every time we click search, it generates about 7 grams of carbon dioxide.

Now that may be true. However, I wonder if they have weighted the effects if people DON’T use search? How much carbon dioxide will be generated if someone pick up their phone to call 2 or 3 friends to ask a question? How about driving to the nearest library? Wouldn’t that actually generate more CO2?

CO2 generation is naturally increasing due to humans. But when the internet actually made an impact to help people travel less and achieve results faster, did anyone calculated the amount of carbon that COULD HAVE BEEN generated otherwise?

Sometimes, there are just people out there who may have good intentions but could easily stop a good development. This is just one of the example, the oppose of Genetic Modified Mosquitoes is another example.

Nothing to do here

I find myself just coming into my own blog, write nothing new and cleaning up at least 20 spam posts daily.

I need to get a life… Do something rather then to blog about my blog… LOL.
