I Kinda Hate and Love the internet Now

When the web evolved to become web 2.0, I started to love the idea that websites can be so dynamic and become more like a desktop application. AJAX based websites and templates came out like mushrooms and more and more websites are developed with API access to interact with other websites or web apps. Phones were able to keep getting updates from the internet and social websites are becoming more then just a circle of friends sharing files.

But what happened now? Instead of many websites with very unique style and functionality, almost everything around the net nowadays are somehow related to Facebook, Twitter and Google. :x

I love it because it has grown into such as powerful medium of information and communication. I hate it because choice is so lacking lately.

  1. Sometimes these giant website makes things easier for other website.
Most people already have account with Facebook and Google so all the guest has to do is the login to the service and allow them to be as user of the website.
Guest do not have to fill up the form again and remember 100 different username and password.
and even have more control of the privacy. If there is anything wrong with website, just delete the access from your facebook or google account.

  2. That’s why I said, less choice but very powerful now. :P
People can usually just come up and ask you for your facebook account instead of your phone number. T_T
